Grant for Teachers
Grants of up to $500 per project

The SHS PTA invites teachers and departments to submit proposals for grants of $100 to $500 for:
    Academic enhancements such as books, videos, DVDs, computer software, teaching tools, special programs, or speaker honoraria to facilitate student  events planned for discussion of ethical, moral or social issues.

The PTA will not supply equipment that would normally be provided by the department.

The PTA cannot subsidize tuition for faculty.

APPLICATIONS

1. Approval for your project must be obtained from the academic department chair and/or the SHS Principal before submission to the PTA.

2. Individuals or departments must submit a proposal of no more than two pages to the SHS PTA President.  A sub-committee of the PTA Executive Committee will determine awards.  You will receive a reply acknowledging receipt of your proposal.  Please submit your proposal to:

3.  There is no restriction on the number of proposals an applicant may submit.  Each proposal is evaluated individually on merit.

4.  Applications must be received by April 25, 2008.  Awards will be announced by May 25, 2008.

5.  The PTA must receive final receipts by June 11, 2008 for presentation to the Board of Education prior to their last meeting of the school year (June 18, 2008).

6.  Awards will be granted for up to $500 per project.

7.  Funds may be used for materials, honorariums and other projects.
